| Standard Documents and Forms | | Apprenticeship Training Programs This is the best of both worlds! Earn while you learn. The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Texas Coastal Bend Apprenticeship Programs provide the opportunity for individuals to obtain employment with one of the sponsors of our Apprenticeship Program. Students typically attend classes two nights a week for 27 weeks. During this four-year program, students are to maintain employment and receive on-the-job training from one of the Sponsors of our Apprenticeship Program. Apprenticeship programs have been developed to assist in meeting the future needs of companies for trained, qualified journey workers. Individuals will be registered with the U. S. Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (BAT). Individuals who complete the required coursework and earn the required on-the-job training hours will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, as well as, the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Department of Labor (DOL) Registered Apprenticeship Programs: Admissions Requirements: Individuals applying for these courses are required to: - Complete a Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend application
- Provide high school diploma or GED transcripts (electrical applicants only)
- At least 18 years of age
- Pass a Sponsor's approved math test
- Pass a drug screen test
Physical Requirements: Individuals should be physically able to perform the following job functions: - Help move heavy equipment
- Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects
- Carry material and tools from location to location or from floor to floor
- Work from extension ladders and scaffolds at various heights
- Work under hot and cold weather conditions
- Lift and work with tools and equipment above head
Electrical License Renewal Class (CEU) The Associated Builders & Contractors, Texas Coastal Bend Chapter in conjuction with the Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend offer a four-hour continuing education course required for renewing electrical licenses. Continuing Education course currently offered: Electrical Safety Based on 2011 NEC TDLR # 8317 - Classes will be limited to 30 students.
